Alaska Rainbow Trout Fishing Trips

Rainbow Trout Fishing in Alaska

Another Another Rainbow Trout Fishing Trip with Kenai River Guides

The Kenai River in Alaska produces more Rainbow Trout in the 12 to 15 pound range than anywhere in the world. Rainbow Trout season opens June 11 to April 30. Trout bite most frequently in June, August, September and October but we fish them all year. The first 17 miles of the Kenai River is in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and is a drift only area. The lower Skilak Lake where the Kenai flows out, is another great area that produces world class trout fishing because this area is filled with spawning salmon, laying eggs everywhere, leaving trout with an endless supply of food.

Rainbow Trout are a native breed (there are no stocked trout in the Kenai River in Alaska) we enforce a policy of catch and release on all Rainbow Trout. Feel free to take as many photos as you can before we slip these majestic fish back into their home waters.
