Captain Randy Wells of the Rogue and owner/operator of the Seward Fish Company, has lived in many areas in Alaska, from the Aleutian Chain to the Alaska bush. His family were prominent business owners in Dutch Harbor where Randy spent his pre-teen years before he and his family moved to Bethel Alaska where Randy graduated high school. His family started fishing on the peninsula 30 years ago. Randy and his family find Seward, Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula truly the best place to live, visit, explore and definitely the best to fish. While in Seward, after you have filled your fish box, ask us to point you in the right direction to see and enjoy all that this area has to offer.

Lingcod

Lingcod (Ophiodon elongates) is spotted in various shades of grey. They have large mouths armed with fanglike teeth, and feature a distinct large dorsal fin that spans the entire body of the fish. Lingcod are ferocious predators of the deep that have an appetite that is only matched by their ugly appearance. These dwellers of the ocean bottom are prized game fish that provide a great deal of action from the minute they hook up.

Rock Fish

Rockfish (Sebastes borealis) are highly sought after for their tasty flesh, they range in color from brown to green (those living near the surface) to orange and red ( those living in deep water). The species most commonly caught are Yellow-eye Rockfish and Black Bass. Their heads, eyes, and mouths are large and their spiny fins are mildly poisonous.
